Tapping out the tapered pins shouldn't be that difficult with the correct punch and hammer, nor should they get destroyed in the process unless this guy is punching them out the wrong way. Says they're a PITA to remove and they will probably have to replace them. Now their smith is complaining about the FSB being pinned in place with the standard tapered pins. They said it would cost $65 to have the handguard installed. The upper also has a standard pinned FSB on it.
Last week I took my AR-15 and a YHM midlength half-smooth quad rail freefloat handguard to a local shop to have their smith install it. I was wondering what people thought of the following situation.
